More on Merapi and Yogyakarta

I visited today the Kraton, sultan's palace. It is amazing thing to hear that there are some cities in Indonesia, who have their own sultan. This sultan is like a king, and crown goes from generations to generation from the ruler to his son. Yogyakarta's sultan has lived in a palace called Kraton. The unique thing about this Kraton is its location. The palace situates along a line that can drawn from the Merapi volcano to a certain sea shore. In between stays the monument of Yogyakarta. The story tells that as long as the sultan and the queen of the sea live in harmony, everything will be fine. But, if there is a conflict in between the two, then Merapi erupts.
The other interesting thing about the Merapi is that there a feast when the villagers bring the fruits of the land to the volcano to thank it for the harvest. Produce includes those plants, fruits and vegetables that are grown either under the ground, in the ground or above the ground.
